Drain relining

Installation of a continuous liner inside an existing drain to renew its structure.

Drain relining renews a length of damaged pipework by installing a continuous resin-impregnated liner inside the existing host pipe, typically between two access chambers. Once cured, the liner forms a smooth, jointless and structurally sound inner pipe that addresses cracks, root ingress, infiltration and minor displacement. The technique is widely used on the older clay drains found across North London boroughs such as Camden, Haringey and Islington, where excavation would disturb paving, gardens or party walls. Liner thickness, resin type and cure method are selected to suit pipe diameter, host condition and operating conditions, with works following BS EN ISO 11296. Relining should always be preceded by thorough cleaning and a baseline CCTV survey to verify the host pipe is suitable.
