End-of-tenancy drain survey

Drain inspection at the end of a tenancy to confirm condition and identify any tenant damage.

An end-of-tenancy drain survey is a CCTV inspection carried out when a tenancy ends, providing comparable evidence of drainage condition for comparison with a pre-tenancy baseline survey. The report identifies any new blockages, accumulated grease, foreign objects or signs of misuse that have arisen during the tenancy, with footage supporting findings. The survey is most commonly used by London letting agents, freeholders and corporate landlords managing higher value flats, houses in multiple occupation and student properties. Engineers carry out the work to BS EN 13508-2 and the WRc Manual of Sewer Condition Classification, providing a written report. The comparison helps landlords and tenants resolve responsibility fairly and supports any deposit dispute through the Tenancy Deposit Scheme. It also informs targeted maintenance ahead of the next let.
