Drain CCTV report

Written report summarising findings of a CCTV drain survey with defect grading.

A drain CCTV report is the documented output of a CCTV drain survey, summarising observed defects, their locations, severity and recommended remedial actions. The format follows BS EN 13508-2 and uses the coding and grading scheme set out in the WRc Manual of Sewer Condition Classification. Engineers identify each defect with a chainage distance from a recognisable reference point, classify it as service or structural and assign a grade from 1 to 5. The report usually includes still images, scaled plans and full video footage on a digital file. In London, drain CCTV reports support property purchases, insurance claims, subsidence investigations and adoption assessments with Thames Water. The output enables clear discussion of repair options, including no-dig relining under BS EN ISO 11296 and excavation under BS EN 1610.
