Vinyl ester resin (CIPP)

Chemically resistant CIPP resin used for industrial drainage and aggressive effluent.

Vinyl ester resin is a high-performance thermosetting polymer used in CIPP drainage rehabilitation where chemical resistance is critical. The material combines the workability of polyester with the chemical durability approaching that of epoxy, making it well suited to industrial effluent, hospital drainage and certain commercial applications. UK installations follow BS EN ISO 11296-4. Vinyl ester is typically used with glass-fibre reinforced liners cured by ultraviolet light, producing a tough structural pipe within the host. While more expensive than polyester systems, the material offers superior resistance to acid attack and aggressive cleaners. On post-installation CCTV survey, vinyl ester liners present a uniformly cured pale interior with no resin residue at the start or end seals. The resin is rarely specified for routine domestic drainage in Greater London but is regularly encountered on selected industrial site renewals.
