PVC-U push-fit pipe

PVC-U push-fit pipe is a flexible waste pipe system joined with internal rubber sealing rings rather than solvent cement, allowing rapid assembly and later disassembly for maintenance. Common diameters of 32mm, 40mm and 50mm cover most domestic basin, sink, shower and washing machine connections, in line with Building Regulations Part H1 and BS EN 1329. The system is widely used in refurbishments and rented flats across London because pipework can be altered without specialist tools. On a CCTV or visual inspection, push-fit joints are identifiable by their chunky external sockets and visible witness lines. Common faults include partial pull-out at temperature changes and trapped debris at the seal, both of which can cause slow leaks or surface staining behind kitchen units.
