Combined jet vac unit

Tanker that combines high-pressure jetting and vacuum recovery on one vehicle.

A combined jet vac unit is a road-going tanker that integrates both a high-pressure water jetter and a high-suction vacuum system on the same vehicle. The jetter clears blockages and scours pipe walls while the vacuum tank simultaneously recovers liquid and debris from the chamber. Combination units are widely used by Thames Water contractors and large commercial drainage companies for adopted sewer cleaning, gully cleaning rounds and emergency response. Tank capacities of 8,000 to 12,000 litres allow long shifts without disposal trips, with on-board water systems supporting continued jetting. Operators must hold the appropriate HGV licence and the company must be registered as a waste carrier with the Environment Agency. Periodic servicing of pump, vacuum, hoses and PTO are essential for reliable performance.
