Van-pack jetter

Jetter unit built into a light commercial van for mobile drainage works.

A van-pack jetter is a high-pressure jetting unit fitted permanently inside a light commercial van, with a pump, hose reel, water tank and engine bay arranged for one-man operation. Typical units carry 400 to 800 litres of water and deliver 3,000 to 4,000 psi at 50 to 80 litres per minute. The van-pack format is the workhorse of urban drainage services in London because the unit can be parked on-street, accesses tight residential mews and does not require trailer manoeuvring in conservation areas. Operators must follow the Water Jetting Association Code of Practice and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) requirements on vehicle weight. Maintenance includes regular pump servicing, hose inspection and water tank disinfection.
