Speedfit

Speedfit is a widely used brand of push-fit plastic pipe and fitting system for domestic plumbing and heating, manufactured by John Guest. UK products comply with BS 7291 for plastic pipework systems and are recognised by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme. Connections are made by simply pushing the pipe into the fitting until it reaches the marked depth, with an internal grip ring and seal providing a secure joint. Tools allow connections to be released and reused, making the system flexible during first-fix work. Speedfit fittings are widely specified in new build London flats because of their speed of installation and adaptability around complex framing. Care must be taken not to expose the plastic pipework to high temperatures from nearby heat sources, in line with the manufacturer's installation guidance.
