Telescopic camera mast

Extendable mast supporting a camera for elevated drainage inspection.

A telescopic camera mast is a self-supporting extending mast carrying a pan-tilt-zoom camera, used for elevated visual inspection of large drainage structures, attenuation tanks, surface water outfalls and commercial roof drainage. Masts typically extend from 3 to 12 metres and can be vehicle-mounted or free-standing. The camera transmits live video to a control unit, with video and stills recorded for the survey report. The technique is well suited to inspection of structures that would otherwise require working at height under the Work at Height Regulations 2005. Operators must follow manufacturer training, ensure the mast is set up on level ground and observe minimum clearance from overhead power lines as required by HSE GS6. Periodic calibration of camera optics is essential for accurate condition assessment.
